On the 18th and 19th, at the 7th Srixon Tour held at the Solago Country Club Lagos Course (par 72) in Taean, Chungcheongnam-do, he recorded a final total of 12 under par 132 strokes and started an overtime match with Bae Yun-ho (30).

In the first hole of the extension, played on the 13th hole (par 5), both Jeong Do-won and Bae Yun-ho recorded par. Later, on the second hole of the extension on the 14th hole (par 4), while Bae Yun-ho recorded a triple bogey, Jeong Do-won blocked it with a par, recording his second Srixon Tour victory.

Jeong Do-won said, “I am happy to win the KPGA Srixon Tour for the second year in a row.” “The course condition was really good today. The green was clean, so I putt well for two days,” he said. He said, “After my professional debut, I achieved both passing and winning the KPGA Korean Tour QT in overtime. I was very nervous today, but I was able to overcome it based on the experience of not losing.”

Jeong Do-won entered the KPGA Pro in 2012 and the KPGA Tour Pro in 2014, respectively, and debuted on the KPGA Korean Tour in 2015 after passing the KPGA Korean Tour QT in 2014. However, he did not achieve outstanding results and failed to maintain his seed, and after being discharged from the military, he was active on the PGA Tour China for about two years from 2019 to 2020.

Jeong Do-won, who had been taking lessons while experiencing driver ips and giving up his tour life for a while, shot a flare of revival last year by winning the first tournament of the Srixon Tour.

He said, “After winning the championship last year, I thought, ‘I have to do better,’ and I wanted to be perfect. As a result, I was very nervous and it is true that I did not have a good feeling at the beginning of the season.”

He continued, “As he continued weight training, his stamina improved a lot. His swing balance has also improved a lot compared to before. Unlike last year, I will return to the KPGA Korean Tour stage with steady performance.”

As Jeong Do-won won this tournament, a player belonging to Srixon won the championship in 5 consecutive tournaments from the 3rd Srixon Tour event.

The KPGA Srixon Tour started title sponsorship in early 2020, in which Srixon supports all 20 tournaments in the second part tour, and has been sponsoring it for four years until this year. Srixon changed the name of the tournament from Challenge Tour to Srixon Tour and promoted the development of the second division tour through substantial management and continuous player sponsorship.

In particular, from this season, all 20 tournaments of the Srixon Tour will be broadcast, and a hole board and live scoring system will be installed on the course in all tournaments, creating a tour with an environment similar to that of the first part, the Korean Tour.

Srixon players won three times in a total of 13 competitions in 2020, and reached the top five times in 20 competitions in 2021 and 2022. In particular, last year, Srixon player Kim Sang-hyun became the first Srixon tour money champion. This year, with only seven competitions held, ‘Team Srixon’ players have already lifted the championship trophy five times. It remains to be seen how many more championships he will win this year.
