“It’s difficult to do movements with my left hand. I’m still learning hard.”
Assist, which has been working on the Assist For Youth project for the development of youth basketball in Korea since 2022, has been working steadily with global sports brand Wilson.
Assist, along with Wilson, selects and introduces one basketball class youth each week to join Up For You. This project has been in progress for over a year as a valuable opportunity to let young people who are hard to get attention know themselves.
The main character selected as the 59th in Wilson X Weekly Here for You is Wonju YKK Basketball Class Yun Choi.
Yoon Choi, a 5th grader at Beodeul Elementary School, says she started learning basketball about a year ago when she entered the YKK basketball class in Wonju. Choi Min, her older brother, first started learning basketball at the Wonju YKK basketball class, and after following his older brother, he himself joined the Wonju YKK basketball class.
Choi Yoon, who found playing basketball fun and joined the YKK basketball class in Wonju, is currently playing on the 5th grade national team.
Choi Yoon, who is active as a 5th grade national team player in the Wonju YKK basketball class with his witty play even though he is not tall, said, “I am learning basketball three times a week while playing the 5th grade national team. It’s a bit difficult. I want to do well with my left hand at dribbles and layups,” he said, adding that he wants to quickly hone his movements with his left hand.
The Wonju YKK Basketball Class improved the quality of classes last year by recruiting coach Lee Ji-woon from Wonju DB. Choi Yoon is also learning basketball from coach Lee Ji-woon.
Choi Yoon said, “I’m learning hard because coach Lee Ji-woon taught me well. It’s not scary and I enjoy playing basketball because he taught me well. I’m enjoying the post-up, but I want to do better in the future.” said these days
He likes basketball, but Choi Yoon says he doesn’t particularly like a player right now. Choi Yoon, who just likes learning basketball and playing on the court, said, “Basketball became more fun while learning basketball at the YKK basketball class in Wonju. It’s difficult because the movements I do with my left hand aren’t good, but the teachers teach me well, so I’m learning basketball happily.” said. 메이저놀이터
He promised to learn basketball diligently in the future, saying, “I am participating in competitions as a member of the 5th grade national team, but I want to play more fun with my friends in the future. To do that, I want to help the team by learning what the teachers tell me.”
Wonju YKK Basketball Class Director Won Gu-yeon said, “Yooni is a very calm kid. He doesn’t get too excited on the court. Now, since he has been learning basketball for less than a year, he has a lot of potential for future development. I want him to learn basketball as hard as he is now.” encouraged
